The mountain landscape surrounding the idyllically situated town of Mayrhofen offers summits of over 3000 metres and with the 372km2 high altitude "Zillertal Alps National Park" is a walkers' paradise.

Mayrhofen has been known as a starting point for walks by holidaymakers in the mountains for over one hundred years. The Penken and Ahorn cable cars transport those wishing to reach the summit more comfortably and quicker than on foot.

Whether its trekking on over 200km of footpaths, leisurely discovering one of the five subsidiary valleys or tramping from hut to hut, as well as rafting, riding, tennis, squash, mini golf: The Zillertal has all this and a lot more to offer.
